Overview
Regimint — a pleasant remedy for unpleasant ailments
Regimint is a combination of the oils of peppermint and caraway.
The peppermint plant is a hybrid of water mint and spearmint.
Its leaves have been used since the 1700s as a digestive aid,
and more recently as a treatment for gingivitis, tension
headache, and candidiasis. The seeds and fruit of caraway have served
as a digestive aid since ancient times.
The oils of peppermint and caraway have been tested in
clinical trials as a combination treatment for irritable bowel syndrome
and some forms of dyspepsia (i.e., painful, difficult, or
disturbed digestion). These trials clearly showed a reduction in
pain and in the sensations of pressure, heaviness and fullness
that characterize these ailments.
Each enteric-coated capsule of Regiment contains 0.2 ml each of peppermint and caraway oils. The usual dosage is 1 capsule
three times per day before meals.
